This simulated retail environment allows the respondent to make his/her shopping decisions and allows us the ability to record these decisions as well as to ascertain what influences them. The following slide frames demonstrate a walk through a Visualizer supermarket shopping environment. From start to finish, this multimedia environment simulates the shopper's routine experience and encourages normal purchasing behavior from entering the store right through until checkout.

( A ) The shopping trip begins just outside the supermarket entrance.

Using the touchpad or trackball, the shopper has opted to turn right, entering the main store aisle (rather than proceed straight ahead into the produce area).

At the Laundry Detergent Shelf section, the shopper has the option to select, examine, re-place or purchase any SKU (when pointing to any SKU, a "pop-up" reveals the complete item description and selling price).
